The Big Sky Film Institute and SPARK! Arts Experience screening for elementary-aged students is a field trip for MCPS 6th graders to a special screening accompanied with educational activities and discussion with attending filmmakers during the festival. SPARK! has allowed BSFI to reach a non-traditional age group with documentary film and curriculum-relevant activities, encouraging rich discussion, interactive engagement, and an exclusive experience for an entire grade level.
Big Sky and the SPARK! team are proud to bring an exclusive selection of festival-selected films to our MCPS 6th graders, ensuring our young people have access to global stories, the filmmakers behind them, and new tools to engage with film and media outside the classroom.
SPARK! Arts Ignite Learning is a collective-impact initiative of the Kennedy Center and is administered through Arts Missoula.
